Pros: Pretty good component mix. Manitou Axel, WTB, XT rear, 27 speed. Will upgrade to XT front and Avid disks. Tuned perfect right out of the box.
Cons: Rolling resistance of hubs could be a tad better. Titainium seat rails would have been a nice touch for a hardtail.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: This is one hardtail that keeps me hard while riding. Previously rode a $1,000 '95' Stumpjumper. Alot has changed since then and although I'm used to XT/LX components on the Stumper the Ponderosa feels just right. Probably an understimated mountain bike due to 'Novara' brand but hey, it's good enough for the girls I go out with.
Rating: 4
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
