Pros: 1) It fits just right and is very comfortable. The stock seat is nice. 2) The shifting is spot on when adjusted correctly (XT). 3) Rear suspension is felt only when it's reqired so when it's time to climb, the rear end is nice and rigid. 4) It's nicely priced for what the bike offers in componentry. 5) Excellent D brakes.
Cons: 1) The XC Comp doesn't offer an air fork (black). 2) The front end tends to wash out at times. Could be my riding, the tires, or geometry - I don't know.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: I can't really compare the XC Comp with other mid to high-end bikes because I havn't ridden any others. However, as my riding skills increase, this bike seems to rise to the occasion and feel it will fit my skill-level for some time to come. I paid $1,058 on sale at Performance.
Rating: 4
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
