Mavic X221 / Shimano LX ATB Front Wheel
Number of Reviews:   1
Average Rating:

A good solid lightweight front wheel for all cross country courses and conditions, especially suited for racing. This off-road wheel is built with a 32 hole Mavic x221 rim laced to a Shimano LX hub using straight 14 gauge spokes in a 3 cross pattern. Rim features include stainless steel eyelets to prevent spoke pull throughs and machined sidewalls for smooth no grab braking. 8/9 speed compatible.

Pros: light wheight excelent hubs
Cons: very poor dent and bump resistance. spokes break on light trails, sidewall bends inward on high psi 2.1 tires when going over curves.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: This tire is so expensive that one would expect it to last more then one season. during the first three months 4 seperate spokes broke at 4 different times, each one requiring an expensive reajustment. then over the nest 6 months 6 seprate dents on my side wall appeared and the sidewall had flatted out in 2 areas while being ridden on dirt trails and city biking, requiring a new rim. this dam wheel has cost me more then it originally cost and that is not the way a "pro" product is supposed to perform
Rating: 1
Recommendation: No I would not recommend it to a friend
