Pros: Very sturdy, I put a better seat on and it has become even more comfortable on long uphill rides, yet going down would be the most fun I've had on this bike. Even without the 8 inches of suspension on some downhill bikes it soaks everything up and gives you great control. It's lasted through everything I've thrown at it.
Cons: I weigh 150 and am having the same problem with the rear shock as mentioned by Billy, but it is not that bad and it gets me up and down hills fine.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Great overall bike, it will go uphill and downhill better than other bikes I have ridden, great for someone who is an all around rider.

Pros: this is a very comfortable rig, handles everything i throw at it,from stairs to down hill, and speeding along uneven trails, this bike loves it, brakes are great, gearing works well, front and rear shocks are very reliable
Cons: its a heavy bike, but other than thats it all good
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: you would have to give me something very special for me to trade this one in, this bike is pure off road, and it burns up the dirt tracks, city ridding is great if you wanna throw it down a flight of stairs or two. kona has produced another winner.

Pros: Good ergonomics, very comfortable. Operates well with XC considering weight. EXR fork works good and the other lower end deore components work far better than would be expected, especially the brakes which are rivaled only by XTRs hydros. I've never even bled them and they've retained perfect tension.
Cons: 33 lbs is a heavy rig for a lot of XC. The rear fox rl is acting strange b/c I'm 145 lbs. and have 180 psi. in it and is a little bit too plush. Valve trouble? I'm not sure.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: Some of my friends are profressional XC racers and, of course, own bikes that are more expensive than my vehicle but they're always riding around on my bike and commenting on how solid it is. The only thing that I'll discount it for at all is the weight.

Pros: strong and versatile, hydro disk brakes work great in bad conditions. I like the shock and the fork.
Cons: I feel some of the components,(hubs, cranks, tires),are cheap and I will upgrade as they wear out. The tires are awful in the woods.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: This is my first FS and I love it. I ride hard on aggressive Canadian east coast trails and it responded exactly as I wanted it to. It is heavy but I found that it climbs similar to my race bike but I just can't do it as long.

Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
