Pros: Tough and beefy frame and it doesn't get the attention it deserves. It's rediculous what a good downhill bike costs these days. But this bike was cheap new and I completely rebuild mine with ALL new parts after having the frame powdercoated and I'd take this one over an 08 I just like the frame better
Cons: It is heavy but you get use to it and you don't even care after you start riding cause it rides so smooth
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: My bike has Avid brake and 130 mm travel Rockshox Tora and Fox Vannila rear shock and new Truvativ cranks and Sram 9 speed set up and Specialized rims with 2.3 Michelins. It's a tough ass bike and get compliments every time it's seen on the trail. I have 1300 bucks in the bike because of a complete rebuild and I don't regret spending one cent on this bike it was well worth it

Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend

Pros: Listen... this bike is bad ass. It does not get the attention it deserves in the media because it is too frickin cheap... Do you think the manufactures what to advertise in a magazine that revealed that the SPEC is a rival to the more popular(and expensive)high-end options. Throw the original shocks(front and rear)out! They are crap... crap, crap... I put rock shox boxxers with 162mm total travel and a rock shox Ario shock in the back- granting the full 5 1/2" travel. The Ario shock is another underrated component that is perfect for this bike. It is simple, reliable, cheap and light- very, very light. This shock shifts the center of gravity and makes the bike feel like 35 lbs. Also, this shock has a hesitation from zero and creates an artificial "stable platform". Climbing is reasonable and damping is great for a bike of this weight. I am getting used to this machine and starting to ride hard. If you can find one cheap, pick it up and save about $500 to $1000 for upgrades... I paid $450.00 for the bike, $160.00 for the Boxxers, and $75.00 for the Ario. I also have a new seat, front rim, tires, grips and cables. The derailleur is upgraded to LX. I love this bike.
Cons: Weight(hit the gym you lazy ass). Shocks... There is no excuse for the crap that is on this exquisite frame. Buy a bash guard. I don't have one yet but it is on the way. Lastly, buy a full face helmet because you are going to want to try some sick s$*!. Oh, a 9 speed drive train and rims are a bonus.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: Great buy. Do It! Get this frame small. I bought most of my gear at auction (Craigslist and EBay). I don't know what more to say. If it wasn't a great bike for me (5'9"-165lbs), I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review. Enjoy!

Pros: What a value, the best DH bike for under 1000 dallors. Just what I was looking for. 8" disc brakes, new marz. forks (120mm of travel). Just a great bike for the price, I looked at other bike but all were over a 1000 and just didn't have that DH feel to it, they were more of a full suspension trail riding bike. But this bike is made for one thing DOWNHILL.
Cons: A little on the heavy side, but I got used to it. And for going downhillin I couldn't tell.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: Like I said before just a great bike for the price, I was very satified with specialized's Big Hit Spec. I would recomind this bike to anyone is looking for a Downhill bike but can't afford the higher end ones this will work for you.
