Pros:
Low cost mechanical disc brakes.
Cons:
Hard to set up initially, due to the fact that it has actually dual pistons clamping the disc.
Time Used:
6 Months
Comments:
Anyone who can't get stopping power with these brakes should just take them to their LBS and get them adjusted professionally. They work great. If they run hot, it's due to the fact that the pads are rubbing against the disc at all time. Each pad needs to be adjusted to be only a millimeter away from the disc. The first couple of days with these I was getting sluggish stopping power until I realized I didn't have the pad closest to the wheel near the disc. The brakes come from the manufacturer with the pads fully retracted, and I suspect many people that try these brakes never adjusted both pads. If you don't do this, all you get is the pad connected to the arm clamping on the disc, and not the other pad.
