Saris Bones Car Rack - 2 Bike
Number of Reviews:   2
Average Rating:

Wanderlust is in the bones. Affordable, easy to use and just plain cool, it's puzzling that you don't have one already.

Pros: Very sturdy frame. Big firm feet. Very light and durable. A joke to put on and off and to adjust the tension on the straps.
Cons: The frame fades from gray to ashy after a couple of years of rain and sun and the teeth on the lashing straps get a little dull.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I've had this bike rack for 4 years and it has served me above and beyond my expectations. Had to replace the lashing straps because they made contact with battery acid but the Saris company replaced all of them for free. Then I replaced the plastic straps that hold the bike frame because they wore down, Saris sent me a new set asap for free.

Pros: Once you've made the proper fittings, removing and replacing it back on the car is easy! i love the rack it is very sturdy and stays put. i prefer the 2-bike rack over the 3. I drive a 2-door sporty car.
Cons: I rented a jeep liberty and couldn't use the rack because of the all glass rear window. too bad I didn't have the Saris Racks Glass Hatch Huggers!
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: i've noticed that the grey colored rack seems to be invisible to pedestrians. have witnessed at least 3 times when those not looking ran into the rack or had a close call either in parking lots or when crossing behind the vehicle. One instance when on the highway I saw from my rearview mirror that my saris crossbar fitting came undone and the bike still held tight with the straps from the bones rack. made it home ok, whew!
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
