Pros:
very comfortable and adjustable, more organic than a coil
Cons:
hard to get the exact pressure, you're supposed to do it approximately equal to your weight in lbs/psi.
Time Used:
Less Than A Month
Comments:
my one arrived dead, the guy sold me an amazing bike and failed to mention that the back was leaking. I read the service manual-with enough tools you can commonly get a service kit to reseal the whole thing from inside-didn't need to. it is only really dead when the small tube is worn past to the black lacquer rubbing into the can...
so after reading the manual, I unscrewed both the valves(zero pressure! Or you blow your head off!), the leaking one was completely dry, so I put some oil onto the screw on the inside of the valve, inside the chamber, and on top of the valve before pumping it up, and so far it is holding pressure again! yay. apart from that there are three big O-rings inside the can that you might have to regrease every few years.

Pros:
looks good. not hard or soft.
Cons:
sqeaky. tedious to fill.
Time Used:
3 Months
Comments:
I didn't like this shock until I learned how to fill it properly. I used to pump it with a generic shock pump, now I use a topeak pump, with an anti-air loss valve. The difference is unbelivable. I'm jumping 2 meter gaps with a controlled easy landing, and no air loss at the end of the day. Great xc shock!

Pros:
Light weight and simple
Cons:
Unable to adjust shock to avoid "bob" with out loss of small bump sensativity. Bulky lock out system.
Time Used:
6 Months
Comments:
The shock has worked fine w/o problems for its' intended use but it lacks travel to balance 5" on the fork end and it is not sensative enough for me. I am going aftermarket for a lighter and more highly adjustable and more expensive longer travel air/oil shock. It may not have been the ideal shock for my bikes' suspension design.
