Pros: Excellent frame with a lifetime guarantee on the main bearing. Handles very well at speed. Superb value for money.
Cons: The Manitou Mars Fork that came stock with the bike is too flexy. I upgraded to a Marzocchi Marathon SL.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: This is for the single pivot Rift Zone. I chose the single pivot deliberately getting one of the last available. I can find no fault in the frame, the design and build quality is first class. Maintenance is not required on the single pivot frame so far. The welds are as good as any frame that is 2 to 3 times the cost. Handling is perfect, it excells at speed and is only slightly less sprightly at slow speeds due to its relatively high centre of gravity. As I have said it benefits from a quality fork and I have Hope Mini discs (not the Mono Mini discs which are no where near as good). The carriers or glacial bushings on the bottom of the Fox shock go regularly...about every year, not as often as on a Specialized but still annoying. I remedied it by fitting a Whyte Bearing upgrade kit....again Lifetime guarantee. The only other thing I will do is change the Fox shock for a Cane Creek Cloud Nine when the Fox eventually goes ....which they always do.
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
