Pros: Well everything pretty much, starting from the fork to the 24inch tire on the back. It''s just a really good downhill bike, I have used it for xc trails aswell but I do not recommend it. It''s made for downhill and freeride.
Cons: None, except people need to understand that it''s a not a road bike, or an xc bike, you will need alot more energy to use this bike as an xc bike and even more as a road bike. but it''s meant to be a downhill bike. buy a road bike or an xc if that''s what you do.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I have seen people in here leaving bad reviews because they couldn''t ride it on a street. It''s a Downhill bike, notice the downhill, it''s heavier and bigger with full suspension, it''s pedal efficiency is poor when it comes to road biking. if you want a serious workout, than get this as a road bike, but it will be a serious workout. Very nice bike in general, best I have ever bought, got the 2002 Bighit Comp upgraded the handle bars and the front shocks after they''re time came, got boxxers now. wow what a bike!11 If you dh, buy this bike.

Pros: For 1399.00 on sale 2004 model. What can one say to that. Dirt jumper 2 fork, 4 way travel adjustabilty on the frame, a nice coil spring shock, Hayes hydro disc brakes, Sun ringle XC rims, decent mix of Shimano, even a Bontrager sadle, 24" rear wheel. handles nice. Sweet shiny silver frame color. Hot bike fro the $$$$$$. Looks like a pricier bike than it is. The monocoque frame is gorgeous.
Cons: None, except the crappy handle bars and lame ass stem. They should add $ 150 to the price and finish it off right. The short stem was a real brain fart. Did any free rider test this rig back at Specialized?? Besides that annoying yet easily remedied gliche..The bike is groovy and is an excellent entry level DH or Freeride machine.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: If you are low on cash get this bike and lose the stem and handlebars as they really do just suck. Very cushy ride, cut the seat post too. or it will nick your shock coil.

Pros: oh were to start this bike is a great bike for downhilling and great for freeriding,it has two different settings witch are 5.5" or 6.3" i havent put it on the 5.5" yet because i dont see a need to.I personaly think it is a great bike for even XC just like John Tomac said,"if your a good rider you could ride a hardtail for downhill and a downhill bike for XC all you need to know what to do is how to ride that bike correctly." all the parts on it are just amazing the new Marozzochi Dirt Jumper 2 fork with Single Track rims. It comes with a full 27 gears, although it also comes with a 5mm thick bash guardto put on if you dont want to have 27 gears.
Cons: the stem that it comes with is just a little short and all the different sizes are pretty much the same size except for the tt length witch is about 1cm longer on the larger size but other than that nothing is wrong with it.!!!
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: I do have the new 2003 version witch sells for less than $1700 bucks retail! All Bighits come with 24inch rear wheel, but the Specialized rep told me that they did that on all models to get more travel out of very little.!!!!
