Pros: Great stiff frame. Fast and quick through turns. Holds momentum like nothing ive ever seen. 2.35 inch tires make it a beast. so soft and smooth for a hard tail! check out the full review at www.trailabuse.com
Cons: Frame is prone to breaking. Fisher replaces all frames!

Pros: The new G2 geometry has taken all the negatives from previous 29er models and improved on them grealty. The fox fork has a 51 MM offset that really smooths out the handling. Great set of components Sram x-9. Bonti Rythms rims tubeless ready rims hold air. Bike feels great once you get used to it
Cons: Seat is the first thing to replace. Juicy 5 are a little loud. Frame has a tad too much flex but would be good for a rider under 215 LBS. Shimano Chain is garbage replace with SRAM 990 Powerlink.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Great product and a great price to boot. I think fisher really did a good job. I would like to see the RLC fork on this model but the RL will do.

Pros: Excellent fit for gorilla frame people (shorter legs + longer torso). Inherent superiority of the 29er for long distance hardpack. Very high quality components on a hardtail.
Cons: Tire size limitations. The newer super-fat 29er tires (Racing Ralph 29x2.4, WTB 29x2.55) will not fit. I still like hardtails and I think the larger tires on the rear for the ride smoothing on hardpack would be desireable if I could get it. I still love the bike but 29 x 2.25 is as large as you can go on the tires and only some of these will fit.

Comments: After years of long distance hard pack riding on a variety of 700c cross (too wimpy) and 26 inch mtn bikes (too rough) the switch to my first 29er has been an accidental success (I wanted a 29er and the Screaming Yellow color of the 2004 Paragon spoke to me with an irresistable come-hither voice). I think I never really understood fit before. The bikes I have had always seemed to fit right in the store but after 50 miles or so, not so good on the back and other places. I am 6 ft with a 29 inch inseam (and longer arms proportionate my upper torso) the Fisher Frame geometry makes an amazing difference for me especially when going for longer distance hard pack rides. I did put on a longer stem (130mm vice the stanard 100mm) to get a more perfect fit out of the Medium Frame for me with my torso and arm length. I changed the brake discs to 185''s from 160''s because I like the higher precision in brake presure you can apply on the larger discs not because I needed it for stopping power. This is just a really great bike for long distance hard pack and generally does most other things pretty good on Kenda small block 8 tires. I have also had good luck with tire changes for some specialized stuff besides distance hard pack (Road Touring with Swalbe Ultemo Slicks - Snowy trail with Nokian Extreme 294s)

Pros: Solid hardware, perfect frame for my body type, just about indestructable with the exception of tires, cables, and rear derailers (thank you for the replaceable hanger Gary). Even the paint seems to take a beating without adverse affects.
Cons: LX shifters are showing their wear due to my pattern of shifting to hold pedal speed (Read heavy user). Not as solid in the tight single tracks but you have to give something up for the longer cockpit and comfy but balanced riding position. I had to switch out that seat, it just about ripped a hole through me after a few rides.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I liked this bike so much that my wife went out and bought one. MISTAKE, you should always be fitted for a bike. She has a shorter torso than I do so she felt drawn out over the bike instead of comfortable. Fisher makes great bikes for people with long torsos and not so long legs. If you're all legs look elsewhere. Before you buy any bike GET FITTED by someone that knows how to do it right. I've been to some shops that take your inseam and tell you your frame size (My wife had that bozo). My measurement session took 45 minutes and finished with a questionaire about my riding preferences, style etc. (and cost an hour of shop labor) Was it worth it? Well, my measurements were for the purchase of a Litespeed frame and the man realized that my measurements matched the Fishers' Large frame dimensions EXACTLY. Soooooo YES IT IS WORTH IT. The fit is what makes this bike. Not the shock, crank or wheels.
