Pros: Great frame geometry and weld quality. Very good Hayes mechanical disk brakes. Better-than-average rims and hubs, shifters and brake levers, but the Truvative crankset that came with my 2005 Iguana was pretty cheesy. The good news is that upgrading the drivetrain on this quality of frame is well worth the effort, and you can spread the cost out over a number of years.
Cons: You really can''t complain about what you get on the bike at this price point.... It is, IMO, much better than anything else, buck for buck. If you are anything but a novice rider, however, you will want to upgrade your handlebars, shifters, cranks, and pedals ASAP.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I ride 2,000km-2,500km a year on hardpack, sandy trails, pavement and XC trails. I have 2 sets of whells, one (Mavic Crossrides with Panaracer XC nobbies, and the stock wheels with Kenda slicks on them...). Every year since I bought my Iguana I have gone into my LBS with the intention of upgrading the whole bike. Every year I have walked out with a new, upgraded component (XTR rear derailleur, ''09 Deore cranks, XT cassettes, Zoom carbon/alloy bars, XTR shifters, egg beater pedals, Mavic wheels, etc., etc.). I get more and more pleasure riding my Iguana each year, and I haven''t had to feel uncomfortable even once about how to pay for my annual upgrade. I would recommend the Iguana frameset to anybody who wanted to take the same gradual approach to building a KILLER XC/trekking bike!

Pros: I have driven it only a few times on real trails but this bike is excellent! Forks, breaks, shifting all smooth and responsive.
Cons: The breaks are a little noisy when they get wet
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: I have driven a hybird bike around the trials for the past 4 - 5 years so this is a real treat. bought it for $350 at 1 year old. you can''t beat the price for the quality of the bike.

Pros: 2007 Giant Iguana - So far so good - nice to ride, lockout on Marzocchi forks, great brakes, light weight, Deore all around including shifters. Even looks nice in the metallic brown.
Cons: Would like to have seen non-dual purpose rims on it (i.e. disk-specific rims).
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: I tossed around the idea of buying the 2007 Iguana, the Yukon and a Rocky Mountain Soul. The Iguana was $770, Soul was $700 and Yukon was $570. For the extra money the front forks are a great upgrade. Aside from that, little difference between Iguana and Yukon - just some extra Deore bits. The Soul had v-brake lever/shifter combos even though it runs disk brakes. The Soul has Shimano disk calipers, but likely little difference to the Haynes on Giant. For the extra $70 over the Soul, the Iguana is a good deal for occassional pavement use with the lockout on the fork.

Pros: Great components for the price, really well made bike with great geometry. A real joy to ride
Cons: Stock pedals blow as does the big ring "protector"
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I would upgrade clip-less and a put a Blackspire big ring protector on it. Otherwise this bike is a great buy!

Pros: I've ridden this bike for 6 years now and just now seems to be starting to wear out. Once I get the money I will look into buying it again. Just a great overall value for the price.
Cons: Seat post broke, apparently this is quite common. No real complaints other than that.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: Bought this at the Bike show in Toronto a while ago but had no idea I was getting this good of a deal.

Pros: Excellent Bike for the money. Disc Brakes seem to be great and easy to maintain. Put the Crank Bro's Candy SL Pedals on it just this past week and love the combination.
Cons: Nothing to speak of. Had some trouble getting the brakes tweaked the way I like them but once we got them set up they have performed flawlessly.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Excellent Bike for the money. Couldnt see spending the extra $150-200 for the Rainier and glad I didnt.

Pros: very strong bike overall and has very little give in the frame. good components and performs awesome for the price which seems dirt cheap compared to other bikes around the same performance level.
Cons: cheap pedals (i don't really see why people are complainin about the cranks or the tubes)
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: great bike for cheap

Pros: strong frame, manitou shocks, components are the best for this price range, the price in itself
Cons: replaced pedals, crank, and tires
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: had this bike for a year and have no complaints other than the cons listed above

Pros: Lightweight, reinforced frame with nice paint job. Good rear deraillieurs. Nine speed (great for climbing).
Cons: Weak intertubes (popped twice in a week). Pedals suck.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: After replacing the tubes and pedals, this bike ($360) was as good as my Fisher Marlin ($480)and WAY better than any bike I've had of equal price. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone!!!

Pros: A very nice bike for the price. Not perfect, but nice. It has taken some abuse from me and comes back for more. No defects or mechanical problems so far. The disc brakes are very nice, and the rest of the components appear to be better than average. Alot of bang for the buck here.
Cons: The front suspension feels too soft to me. If you weigh more than 175 lbs you will probably want to put stiffer springs in. The pedals have a very aggressive tread on them...it makes it tough to get into the toe clips if you have any amount of tread on your shoes at all (the tread on the pedals will eat your legs if the bike gets away from you, too). I will probably upgrade to clipless pedals in the future.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: I LOVE this bike. It rides and performs as well (or better) than my brother's bike that he spent twice as much money on.

Pros: Nice bike for the price. Great disc brakes, smooth gears, comfy seat. I just started biking and think this is a very good beginner/intermediate bike.
Cons: Crank and pedals are cheap. Replaced them both. Otherwise, no complaints.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: For under $500 (if you replace the pedals) a very good bike.

Pros: Disc Brakes, good components for the price, shopped around and still can't find a better bike for the same price
Cons: bottom bracket came loose after about 6 months, tightened it back up, works fine, bad pedals
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Also replaced the pedals, and put on some new tires. Mosquitos were no good. This bike is great for a weekend warrior.

Pros: price is excellent for the performance you cant buy the componets for near the price of the package
Cons: crappy shock
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I have beaten the hell out of this bike and it keeps begging for more! it rides better now than my riding partners bikes that they paid 3 times as much for 2 and a half years ago
