Pros: i've logged another three months on the mono minis....
Cons: none so far...a bit of fade on super steep and porlonged downhills
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: i'm still happy with the mono minis...you can 'one finger' these brakes, which really helps with hand fatigue on the steep, droppy downhills. done two adventure races with them, no failures, leaks or problems. squeaking is minimal, unless you get oil/grease on the disc, then they squeal like a stuck pig. alcohol cleans the discs right up.

Pros: price point, ease of service, ease of install, aesthetics (they look REALLY trick), decent modulation, although V brake mod is better, the stopping power is no comparison
Cons: squeak a bit when wet, hot, or crudded up
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: i like the hope minis, they are a decent cross country and free ride brake, i would not downhill seriously with them, but i live in the wet and wild pac northwest, and have had no problem stopping when it counts, try em...plus, the laser engraving and cnc machining are totally slick...

Pros: They just keep getting better each year, and the Mini is no different. Their excellent modulation is important in wet, slick, steep situations where locking up the brakes could be disastrous. Compared to the Enduro brake, the Mini's are substantially lighter.
Cons: In general, I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship with disc brakes since I first got disc tabs welded onto my frame. While I love how they should feel, I’ve never been a fan of the long setup and break-in process many brakes seem to require. I was almost ready to swear off disc brakes until luckily, a set of Hope Minis ended up in my greasy testing palms, and life has been more fulfilling ever since. Well, maybe not life, but riding.

Comments: I have used a number of brakes over the years and I just plain love the feel of the mini's at the lever. I should know, I run a bike shop and race often. The modulation provides superior control over any brake I have ever ridden before. When needed you can keep the wheel at maximum stopping power just before lock up. After initial set up I have done nothing but change the pads. Hope sent me a new set to replace the first ones free of charge. I have done a number of two mile downhills with these and have not expereinced any ramp up or spongy feeling. They couldn't be stronger. I don't like the hayes because of the on/off feeling you get at the lever. Some people have mentioned shimming them and I would agree that it is mostly a frame issue from manufacturers like Ellsworth, Santa Cruz and Rocky Mountain and not a brake issue. On every one of those frames the mounts weren't aligned and caused sqeaul. After sanding the paint of and shimming correctly it was fixed. These are great if your looking for reliability, light weight and absolute stopping power.

Pros: see the comments below... the breaks work.. have never had a moments doubt. if i want to stop. i stop. rain, wind, shine.. gravel, mud, snow... these babies are superb...
Cons: i have to write at least 20 characters in this space in order to submit this review. There are no cons. There. Space filled.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: Peformance for money is a rare thing. These things are superb. Ive never tried other discs... i know the shimanos are supposed to kick a... but just get some discs... the difference in weight is marginal... the difference in stopping power is shocking. I got a new full susser... and the best thing wasnt the sus... it was the breaks... am i babbling? yes... but DISCS ARE THE RESULT! nuff sed.
