An affordable, lightweight disc wheelset. The DS2-XC is a 6061 series alloy, disc specific, cross country rim designed by Sun to be lightweight and strong. The rim is laced to Shimano (M-525) Deore hubs using 32 stainless steel, 14 gauge spokes in a 3 cross pattern. Drilled for presta tubes. QUANTITIES ARE LIMITED

Pros:
ridiculously inexpensive without being cheaply built, black hub and rim with lots of stickers on the rim looks high-quality.
Cons:
deore. at least they're the 525 and not the super cheap deore hubs. silver spokes don't match the rim and hub. rear will need a bearing rebuild soon.

I'm a 205# Clydesdale riding a 27#, very rigid aluminum hardtail frame on rocky, rooted trails. There isn't a much more rigorous test for XC-only wheels and these wheels would do great even if they were a $300 set of Mavics, much less $87 for the set. Go to bluesky for the lowest price but Jenson and BeyondBikes will pricematch if they're in stock. I took them to the LBS for minor tuning on the spoke tension after 300 miles and 2 races, but you should do that with any wheel. They hold true and I have no problem recommending these wheels to someone looking for a high-quality and high-value set. 4/5 stars only because of the poor rear bearings and there's plenty of wheels out there that save you another 300 grams, but they'll cost you another $400. For a great upgrade, pay $200 for the DS-2/XT combo.
