Pros: Solid entry level bike
Cons: 2010 model not available with disc brakes
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I decided to wait a good year before I wrote about this bike. I am not an advanced rider by any means and this is the first bike I purchased for trail riding. As an entry level bike I am greatly impressed. The bike has taken everything I have thrown at it (jumps, falls, crashes) and is still in excellent shape. The only downside is that it does not have disc brakes, which I feel is an excellent upgrade on the 2011 model.
Rating: 4
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend

Pros: All stock components have worked well.
Cons: none to note.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: This is my first mt bike that I bought from a bike dealer. I don''t abuse my bike. I ride on pavement and logging roads. I have over a 1k miles on it. I have replaced the brakes, the rear cassette, and the chain. The Trek bike shop does free tune-ups. So you only get charged when something is broke.

Pros: Great frame, good v-brakes, smooth simple shifting, great styling, great value
Cons: Rims are weak and will bend if used single tracking, very poor front fork
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I bought this bike as a commuter and bike path bike. My friends started to buy more aggressive/higher trek/gary fisher models for single tracking. 3700 has some weaknesses when it comes to more aggressive riding, most noteably the front suspension and rims, I have upgraded the rims 2 a double walled wheel to avoid another taco''d rim while some downhill riding. Painful lesson . . .

Pros: lightweight, durable, great gearing, acceptable susppension
Cons: not full suspenion, not disc braes
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: i bought this bike as an entry level bike for my self, and it is absolutely great. The gearing is the best i could think of, the standard bontrager wheels are superb, and it is just a great all rounder.

Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Cheap Wheels! Bad customer service
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A MOUNTAIN BIKE! Where to start... After 2 weeks the back tire bent going down a 6 inch curb. I weigh 150lbs. The shop declined warranty replacement. Trek declined warranty replacement and leads you around in circles. This bike felt like a good bike compared to my $99 department store bike, but it cannot take any abuse whatsoever. This is absolutely NOT a mountain bike.. See for yourself, they put the same wheels on the low-end bike path bikes. This bike is a Bike Path Bike in disguise as a mountain bike. Do yourself a Favor and go buy a bike at Target. At least department stores have a RETURN POLICY! Trek''s warranty is a joke, and there is no such thing as customer satisfaction guaranteed.

Pros: price, asthetics, weight, gear shifting
Cons: not a full suspension bike.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: i wanted a bike that was versatile, economical with good looks. the trek 3700 meet all these expectations. i love the chrome color of the bike. i have taken it on trails and it rides pretty smoothly. the gear shifting is smooth and the bike is so light. i''m wondering if i could have found something similar for a cheaper price but i''m satisfied with my purchase.

Pros: Strong frame, smooth shifting, good brakes, all around great so far.
Cons: Little noisy when gears and brakes get muddy, not a big deal though.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: I love this bike, I have only ridden cheaper bikes til this, but I can tell it is a quality bike for the money.

Pros: good strong frame and brakes are good.
Cons: don''t know i''ve only been biking for 3 months.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: i took it own an 8 foot drop and then a 3 foot ramp at the bottom and the forks were good for that.my 1st bike and i love it. on really rocky areas pedal fast then the wheels don''t slip away from you. all in all a really good bike. for £250 it''s worth it.

Pros: Nice paint scheme, decent price for entry level, Good components to start with. Light weight frame.
Cons: chain fell off twice, no biggy.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: I bought this bike as a beginner bike to see if a would like or want to pursue mountain biking. Turns out this is a great bike worth every penny. I use it 5 times a week about 6 miles a day and it is great. I haven't ridden any other expensive type bikes before so i can't compare it, but so far it's been good. I use it on light trails and the occasional single track. If your wondering what bike to get but are unsure of quality and maintenance, pick this bike up, you won't be dissapointed.

Pros: Great Starter Bike, Amazingly tough and trouble free.
Cons: Front Shock is Marginal
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: I bought the 3700 just to get into mountain biking and it has met all my needs. Most of my riding friends have $2000 - $4000 bikes I can seem to do most of the things they can, the limiting factor is me not the Bike. I will be purchasing a full suspension bike soon but if your just starting the 3700 is a great choice.

Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: i enjoyed my time on this bike i had it for around 4 years... it worked so well that i didnt even need to tune it up untill after about three and a half of them. if u dont want to drop a wad of cash for a bike, this is for you.

Pros: Its really good for coming into the sport, comfortable
Cons: Gear shifters have to be cleaned and lubricated so they aren't super noise and gay.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: iis smaller model has really bad cleareance.

Pros: Yellow/Black color scheme looks sharp. The bike can take a massive beating and still operate fantastically; the frame is still in excellent condition and it has taken A LOT of beating. Good brake life and quality.
Cons: After about 6 months, the derailleurs get sticky and changing gears creates some noise and may be difficult at times. Chain tension is problematic.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: My first real mountain bike has seen many hours of rough trail action. Minimal maintenence is required to keep it in shape, most projects can be done at home by someone who knows nothing about bikes. The low price and durability make this an easy buy for recreation or for people wanting to get into mountain biking. The cons detract little from an overall great ride.

Pros: The Red color has caused me to decide that is my favorite color. The frame is tough has taken lots, and I mean LOTS of punishment, and has had no problems.
Cons: The gears could be a little better but, that is something that I will just have to update later.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I love Trek and everything they produce and this bike is a GREAT bike for someone who is looking to start out MTB and don't want to spend a lot of money on a bike they may not use often, if they do not like MTB.

Pros: Black looks good! Smooth ride bars up higher than others helps my back>>
Cons: Changing gears is all I have noticed so far. I will take it to the shop to get it adjusted.
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: This bike is very good entry level bike!! Trek has a Life time warranty on the frame. 5 years on the Bontanger equipment. That is good enough for me.

Pros: Love the WSD frame. Smooth and easy to ride. Good brakes. A great first bike
Cons: The gears seem to make a massive amount of noise (I chalk that up to the fact I am learning how to ride a bike for the first time and the gear think makes no sense to me, yet)
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: This is my very first bike, ever. Got on it and was able to ride pretty quickly. I think a regular frame would have caused some falls, but the WSD frame made it much easier to hop on and off the bike and keep my balance. Have only had the bike on paved surfaces, but so far love the ride. The bike handles well, brakes smoothly and is PREFECT for the first time bike rider. I would highly recommend it.

Pros: Stock: Verry Few But Strong Frame
Cons: The weight and the components suck..!But... For the price it is a great place to start riding
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I Purchased this bike about a year ago as an experienced mt biker. I have owned fishers and giants, hard and soft tails. and after slowly upgrading this treck on a buget, it has become one of my favorite. After every thing was said and done the only stock part on this bike is the frame...but it performed well untill i could aford beter parts. In All this bike is great if your looking to build a great hard tail. If you want pics write me cerrico83@yahoo.com

Pros: Very solid aliminum frame and exceptionally tough paint on the frame.
Cons: Weight. Wide as Texas handlebars. Components are very low grade, constant gearing issues, especially in cold winter months; almost impossible to ride in snow and slush due to build up. Large chain ring bent while peddeling. Tires constantly go flat. Tried self sealing tubes but they couldn't keep up with all the punctures. Mostly from goatheads which are extremely common in Nevada. Tires also terrible for pavement use. Shock is sketchy at best. Rims are weak, the front has had to be trued repeatedly despite having a shock and not performing any large drops.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I now only use the middle chain ring as the large ring is useless. I have changed the tires to kevlar lined Specialized Armordillo's. This made an amazing change to this bikes performance and reliability. I chopped a total of 5 1/2 inches off the handlebars and flipped the stem. I will likely change the fork and seat if I continue to ride this beast. In the end, I feel it was a bad investment if you ride more than an hour or so once a week.

Pros: Strong frame. Excellent bang for the buck. Trek quality.
Cons: I would say it's the components, but that's why the price is so low.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: You can save up for a nicer overall bike or buy this one and have something to ride as you upgrade the components.

Pros: Great Value for the price. Comfortable and sturdy (I'm 6'-1", 235). Take a lickin and keeps on ticken.
Cons: Had some initial problems with the shifters and the chain tension. Rear brakes need frequent adjusting.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: Been able to keep up with my friends who are on $600+ full suspension bikes. Would not take it to the Rockies, but a great bike for the South Florida trails.

Pros: Sturdy Frame, Comfortable riding position. Good all around workout bike
Cons: low quality componets tend to break when abused
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I have killed two freewheels and a bottom bracket on my 3700. Granted I ride 2 times a day and tend to be rough on my bike. This bike is good for a low buck bike, great for simply getting my butt outside and riding. I do mostly city trails and roads, but there are some really cool single track areas that I attack agressivly. I find myself wanting a higher gear for the road (11 teeth would be good) but it does well enough. All in all what do you expect for less than $300? My local bike shop and Trek have been great about replacing broken parts for free.

Cons: shocks are weak and can't find any info on them
