Nokon MTB Cables With Housing
Number of Reviews:   1
Average Rating:

The Nokon cable system uses a Teflon liner surrounded by aluminum shell segments to replace your traditional housing. Like lockout on a shock, Nokon's cables eliminate the performance-robbing compression associated with traditional brake-cable hosing.

Pros: Sealed, Teflon lined system, Sharp bends are no problem! Excellent, clean and crisp shifting
Cons: Expensive and time consuming set-up.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: I've run my Nokons on my Ellsworth Moment for 16 months now with no problems. Wet, muddy mountain trails and dry, baked California Sierra dust didn't phase them. Well one problem ... some creaking at times, but a little lube and wipe down on the cable sections themselves quieted them right up! Has outlasted two normal sets of XTR or Dura-Ace cables I normally run. Sharp turns around seat tube, head tube and chainstays are a dream! Sexy looking and functional. After you've done the set-up once it's really not that bad, but give yourself a full afternoon the first time. It's not quick to do, but it's trick as hell on your bike and the shifting is just as crisp after 16 months as if was on day one! That speaks volumes!
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
