Pros: no loss of power through peddle bob, versatile in variety of conditions, excellent descender, the Mavic cross-max XL wheels are bullet proof.
Cons: Trouble with constantly having to re-adjust the Hayes brakes - fixed with plastic inserts, got rid of the Hutchinson tubeless tires before it went out the bike shop door because they are useless in most trail conditions.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I have ridden this bike over 600 days over 4 season, mostly around Fernie, BC. The bike has been a great ride since the beginning. Alot of people didn't like the Rock Shox Psylo Race fork that came with the bike - found it too soft. I weigh about 160 pounds, so I didn't find it bad at all, and got just over 3 seasons out of it before it wore out - have replaced it with an 07 Fox Talus RLC - what a difference! Truly a much better fork, and adds even more versatility - drop it to 120 mm for technical uphill climbs which are rooted and full of switchbacks, pop it back up to 140 mm. for the downhill, and bomb away. I know there are lots of new bikes out there, but unlike previously owned bikes, I have absolutely no itch to replace this one.
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
