i love the way the shocks ride and feel, and the frame is crazy awesome.
Cons:
first off, i got an xxl frame... which was a mistake for the type of riding i do. normally the frame would fit me and i''d be perfectly happy with the bike, but i find my self at the pump track often, and i cant lower my seat very much... and jumping a frame so big is awkward. i love the disc brakes, but they seem to be finicky because they''re mechanical, and because my wheels never seem to remain true, so i find myself spending a lot of time adjusting the brakes and the wheels. also, the wtb pure v seat mine came with was magnificent... until i bent the rails on it, so it is now forever stuck in a funny position.

i actually love this bike, even though the review may not make it seem like it. i am incredibly rough on my bikes though, and go to fast and crash alot... which wasn''t what this bike was made for. it is primarily an xc bike, but that aside, it still tears up jumps and log drops despite its size. in the end, i would probably buy this bike again, just... not an xxl frame size. the bike has a perfect stand over height for me (i''m 6''3) but with jumps and pump track riding, you need to get a bit lower. i''d do it again if i got a large or med. frame.

Pros:
Shimano parts, very light, comfortable riding stance, lock-out front fork
Cons:
Left pedal seems to make a creaking noise recently. Most of the reviews I have read mention the pedals as being the main flaw. Perhaps I will need to replace mine soon as well.

This is my first bike in a long time (probably 8 or 9 years now?) and I am very pleased with it. I fell in love with it when I first took it out for a test ride. It's very easy to ride, lightweight, and comes with a reasonable price tag!
I haven't done anything too extreme with it like taking it off 10 foot jumps, but don't really plan to. I ride it around some local trails that aren't terribly harsh, and frequently ride on pavement. The lock-out feature on the fork is awesome. Just reach down and turn the switch and the fork will no longer compress. Really helps you on solid terrain to crank up the gears and fly (without a percentage of your effort being wasted compressing the shock again and again).
I don't know what an experienced/hardcore rider would say about this bike, but if you're beginner then I highly recommend this.

Pros:
Same frame as the 1.0 and Expert. Excellent price point and some pretty good components. Suspension lock-out (2007 and newer) is a great feature for those of us who ride multi-surface trails.
Cons:
Low-to-mid level components all-around. Specifically, the Shimano Acera front derailleur is a big hit. The pedals are also really cheap.

With some minor component swaps, makes for a great all-terrain touring bike. This one got me through all 180-something miles of the C&O Canal in a few days with only minor mechanical issues.
