I weigh 250lbs and this bike has taking quite the beating from me and it is stil rolling. Had it for 5 years and only thing I have changed was the grips, saddle and new tires. They no longer make these bikes but if you are new to mountain biking and can find a used one I would recommend this bike.

I have had my iron horse warrior for 3 years. I have rode alot of hours on it and it has been a great bike (other than the cranks). It has taken lots of beatings but with some new upgrades i just put on it new cranks, avid bb5 brakes, new grips, new seat, specialized tires it still rides like new or better.I have reacently got into dirtjumping and bought a specialized p3, i also made my ironhorse singlspeed and now it is my backup dj. It is not nearly as good as my p3 but still is fun to mess around on and is a solid backup. Best bike in the world for the price!!

The price was awesome. I recommend it for entry level.
Cons:
All parts stock sucked!!!
Time Used:

I upgraded with $1,400, mounted a REBA 120mm Travel Distance in front and full shimano xt, and this baby rides like or better than any aluminum hardtail in the 2000 dollar range. Frame is comfortable and solid. Responds excellent to any command.

Pros:
Can take the abuse. Great bike for the money spent.
Cons:
As everyone mentioned, the grips. It was the first thing I changed out.
Time Used:

I now ride a Specialized FSR Stumpjumper but still love to take this bike out a ride it. I put some Ergon grips and Crank Brothers Candy pedals on it and have had a blast on this bike. I even entered the Bump and Grind race at Oak Mt. state park, beginner level and won 3rd place out of like 25 people. This bike is solid for the price you pay and entry level components. You just have to hope you get a knowledgeable person putting it together at Dicks, which is the only place I have seen them.

Pros:
The price for what you get , no better deal with components . Great bike to use on new trails , not knowing what to expect while leaving the dollar bike back home .
Cons:
Grips feel a little funny ,tires need upgrading at pit-stop , chain guard makes chain rattle on this model , fixed by bending opening a little with huge screw driver !
Time Used:
6 Months

Tested this bike at FATS epic Trail system Augusta GA . This bike is the best deal I have seen for breaking out of intry level trail riding ! For the money you can not complain about the componets . These bikes are sold at Dicks and assembled by clerks . The secret to happiness with this bike is taking tools with you on the ride and do your own tune-ups while riding . Got this bike talking !

Pros:
Great price for features. $300 at Dick''s
Cons:
Had to buy it at Dick''s, cheap pedals, uncomfortable grips.
Time Used:
Less Than A Month
Comments:
Excellent bike for the money! Although with Dick's expert bike builders, the chain came off twice on my first ride, making my knee rather black and blue. Suggest doing a once over inspection if purchasing anywhere but your local bike shop.

This is a great bike. I wanted a trek 6700 but didn't want to drop over 1000.00 on a trek. I have added a lot of upgrades to this Iron Horse. New Shimano xtr cranks, rock shox tora air, alexrims double walled, protaper bars, easton vice stem, shimano dx pedals, shimano deore xtr rear derailluer and shimano xt front derailluer. This is the perfect bike for under 1000.00

The price point is nice to start off at.
Cons:
Dart1 forks, the Grips Suck ass! the seat is o.k

Up grade to a Dart3or Marzochi then change the damn grips...after a good break in...then get a tuneup and up grade as you please. I droped about $260 more on this $280 bike and it performs like the Warrior 5.0 I was testing at my LBS an I still spent less overall. Good starter... and easily upgradibe. the fram is solid. happy trails!

After the untimely passing of my Mongoose Otro (due inpart from some boob behind the wheel of an F150). I was short on cash but needed a ride. unfortunately i was considering the blackcomb from Crap-Mart or 2nd hand Hardrock Sport. Then i found this at Dick's. it was on ckearance for $299, the ticket said org. was $479. So i thought it was a good in-between. a new bike, better than wally world's. For the money it has been a very good ride! I have put about 60 miles on it so far. except for the usual tune up after breaking it in...no problems. After i cash up enough scratch to roll an another dual susp. I'll keep this guy around too. Very little up grading is neccessary to give it that Warrior 3.0 or 5.0 performance for the long haul.
I recommend this ride for beginners, or a strong backup.
