Set in the beautiful downtown of Winter Park, Colorado the second annual 24 Hours of Adrenalin and 24 Hours of Adrenalin NORBA National Championships took place with 380 riders. Thousands of spectators lined the transition area and the main drag (U.S. Hwy 40) of Winter Park to watch the LeMans start. Competitors ran 600 yards before getting on their bikes to ride the 7-mile climbing course.

The challenging course was an advantage to two-time Olympian and now four-time National Champion Tinker Juarez (Volvo/Cannondale) who rode an impressive race. He was the first to complete lap one and set a fierce pace finishing 27 laps-‹or 189 miles‹to take the victory. While Nat Ross (Subaru/Gary Fisher) rode a strong race, it wasnıt enough to catch Tinker. Ross finished with 25 laps. John Connelly of Littleton, Co. finished third with 19 laps. Cristina Begy of Denver (Independent Fabrications/Handle Bar & Grill) won the womenıs National Solo Title with 17 laps.

In the 6 person Junior Nationals category, the Specialized Junior Factory Team finished first with 31 laps. The Front Rangers of Colorado Springs (USA Cycling Junior Development team) came in second with 27 laps. In the 4 person open, Beaver Creek/Christy Sports of Vail took first place with 36 laps, the most laps completed overall. Team Rudy Project of Lakewood came in second with 34 laps and Louisville Velo Club of Louisville came in third with 31 laps. King of the Rockies out of Winter Park won the Masters category with 34 laps, fifth most laps overall.

In non-NORBA National categories, the Subaru/Gary Fisher team, helped by 6th place finisher (2000 Olympics) Mary Grigson of Australia, won the 4-person open category (non-NORBA National category) by completing the second most laps overall 35. Team RockShox came in second with 34 laps (fourth most laps overall) and Team 4 Guys, who all rode single speed bikes, came in third! Other notables were first time 24-hour competitor Zapata Espinoza, Editor of Mountain Bike Magazine, competed on Team Maverick. They took home a victory in the Corporate category with 30 laps.
