Koobi Split Fit Saddles

Ever since the media grabbed onto the story of cycling causing impotence, there's been a huge surge of products hitting the market claiming to be kinder and gentler saddles. These modern marvels have ranged from the ridiculous to the downright genius. Koobi's crack at the ergo saddle fits into the genius category.

Whether it was denial or reality, I never really wanted believe cycling could cause sexual dysfunction. As such, I've been happy with my rock hard racing saddle. Then the guys at Koobi sent us one of their new Split Fit saddles and I can't thank them enough.

Though I never experienced any Bob Dole-type E.D. symptoms, I can now understand how scientists have come to this conclusion. After just one ride with the Split Fit design, I instantly noticed the lack of pressure on my vital body parts. All these years riding with a "normal" saddle I never gave it a second thought. The split fit was an eye opener.

Besides the ergonomic advantages touted by Koobi, the saddle was extremely comfortable for my entire back side. There is ample padding provided in the SI model tested to make sitting a luxury while still maintaining a sporty profile and a surprisingly light 350 grams.

A common theme among ergonomic saddle designs is a large groove or extra padding down the middle of the saddle. The thing that makes the split fit different from some of the other saddle offerings is the location of this groove. The groove extends from the middle of the saddle all the way to the nose. This allows for a comfortable riding position wherever you are on the saddle. From normal riding to sitting on the nose for a nasty climb, the split fit design is looking out for your sensitive areas the whole way.

Koobi actually has a full line of saddles based on their split fit technology. Their saddles range from $44 to $109 US, and use a variety of quality materials like leather, titanium, maganese, and chromolly. Plus they offer designs specific for both men and women. From the high-end 255 gram Xenon to the entry-level 335 gram bronze there is bound to be the right saddle for you.

If you're not experiencing any sexual problems then you're probably thinking why bother? Your saddle may be working just fine for you. But when it comes to the ability to perform, why take a chance? The Koobi saddles offer comfort, performance and peace of mind.

Who's it for:

Anyone concerned about saddle comfort or E.D.

Who Isn't it For:

Anyone who likes a wet noodle.
