Pros:
Excelent product. As somebody down there said, it protects very well your back from the irregularities of the road.
Cons:
Perhaps expensive, it depends. I always save my money. Nevertheless, with this item I decided to go all the way for it. It is definitely worthwhile and rewarding to your health.

For those of you who think it is very difficult to change the elastomers, know this mechanism it indeed isn''t easy to tune, but it''s not impossible either. I have change them several times and I needed no help. It just takes a little time and patience, and you shall succeed.

I sent my unit back for evaluation. Changing the elastomers was a nightmare compared to the Cane Creek video. I had to significantly preload the unit to get the skewer to reach, a very difficult task for only one person and I had a heavy duty bike rack to help.

Pros:
Does a tremendous job of improving the comfort of a hardtail, adjustable for different rider weights through included elastomers, improves rider control and allows rider to sit where he (or she) would normally have to stand over rough ground.
Cons:
Heavier than a standard post but this is a very minor complaint. Attaching seat is a little harder than with a normal post. Make sure your bike has the seat height available to accomodate the height of the Thudbuster.

Saves your back, faster downhill, can stay seated over rough terrain when needed for better traction
Cons:
Not enough room on seat post to attach SKS shockboard fender (for those rainy days). It will fit on Thudbuster frame, but not super firm. I've ordered a Crudbuster to protect the suspension seatpost.

I love this seat post suspension!! I am definitely faster over the rough terrain in general. I can stay in the saddle more without getting beaten to death by my aluminum framed Ibis. If you love to climb like I do, then you know the advantage of having a hardtail. You also know that you'll be slower than a dual suspension on the downside. For me, the Thudbuster has made me faster on both sides of the mtn. If you can't afford a high dollar lightweigh MB (or have other $ priorities), then get a hardtail with a Thudbuster.
