Pros: Strong and overbuilt frame, great rear suspension (5" - 6" travel with X-Fusion coil-over,) "large" size is actually large (21.5"), easy to add third chainring to make it a 27-speed bike for those like me who like speed, Pivit components are stiff and strong, Black frame option looks amazing, and the mid-price-range components perform smoothly and are durable (if you fear your friend's judgment of the components, you can probably find lightly used XT/XTR components on eBay).
Cons: Stock fork has too much rebound damping for me, and the disk brakes have uneven stopping power (possibly an adjustment issue.)
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: Other bikes I have owned: - Raleigh Inferno (somewhat rare high-end racing full suspension XC bike) - Heavily modified Specialized FSR Ground Control '98 (w/ Judy SL '03) - Heavily modified Raleigh M60 hardtail '02 (w/ Judy SL) - Heavily modified Raleigh M40 hardtail '99 (w/ Judy T2) - Dynacraft Vertical "Dual Suspension" This is the first all-monutain/freeride type bike I have owned, so I may be overstating its strong build and nice suspension. Overall I highly reccomend this bike. 4.75 / 5 (rounds to 5 stars)
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend

Pros: Cheap price, decent frame, good basic components.
Cons: Front fork and disc brakes aren`t so good.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: This is a great bike for not much cash. I have upgraded the front fork to a Manitou Black Elite and fitted Deore hydraulics. These were the most urgent upgrades, and now I am satisfied with the ride. Its a bit on the heavy side, but so am I, so I don`t mind. It will take some abuse, but Ive heard that if you try huge drops, it will break. So, if you wanna do that kind of riding then you gotta spend more cash, right?

Pros: The bikes frame is strong and the overall bike is a great value all things considered. Can take some punishment that would surpise some.
Cons: Stock fork sucks-needs to be upgraded.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: With a few upgrades, the bike is ready to ride hard. Haro has been manufacturing bikes for some time and the quality of their mountain bikes reflects good value.

Pros: great price!!!! everything the big boys got for under $700.00 A few tweaks with after market stuff and you got nothing to be ashamed of. this bike can handle everything you can give it.
Cons: stock front shock needs to be replaced, but a quick fix with JudyC is all you need.a bit heavy, but where I ride in the Redwoods, you need a stiff ride. You can climb with the full suspension if stay on the seat........just crank
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: smooth ride downhill and stock disk brakes can stop on a dime. there mechanical, yet they pull smooth. pedals are kinda chunky and reflectors had to go. if you ride til it breaks, you will be riding along time......
