Pros: Good, strong components for the money.
Cons: Crappy tires!!
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: This is a great all around bike for the price. Good components, room for upgrades to personalize the bike and make it your own. This bike will handle a little bit of everything and do it well.

Pros: nice strong frame, good feel to the bike, felt real confident on the first ride. nice rockshock forks, and smooth shifting. great bike if you like riding a little bit of everything.
Cons: did not like the straight handlebar, swaped out with a raised bar. wish my 99' model had disk brakes, but the v'brakes will do.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: i got a steal on the bike as it was a hand me down from my brother. he got it for around $700 and only rode it a few times, i got it off him a few years later for $250. i really love this bike. if i start riding harder, then i may upgrade to a freeride bike with full suspention and a front fork with more travel.

Pros: Very tough frame, it's not expensive, ok parts.. Although I traded in the forks and the rims for better parts that suit my needs.
Cons: Nothing that bad about it out of the box. One thing I noticed though.. Compared to the 2006 frame I think the 2005 is better..

Comments: I only got my 2005 caldera lastnight and I had the chance to test it this morning and I must say it is so much better than my older indestructable bike. hehe

Pros: Excellent forks and excellent brakes. Very happy with it.
Cons: replaced tyres within 3 months. Seen better gear shift elsewhere though, but for the money not bad
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Great alround bike that has recieved plenty of abuse and still works well after minor repairs. Would need to spend considerably more money to better it as an alround package

Pros: Great components for the price. Hydraulic disks, XT rear, Marzocchi EXR Air very plush and nice feel for an OEM fork. Excellent handling, even on sketchy downhills and dropoffs which the bike isn't realy designed for.
Cons: Weak rims - (Mavix X139 disk) tacoed front wheel on 4 - 5 foot drop after 3 months - replaced with more solid rim. However probably deserved as I do tend to abuse the bike following my freeride mates into places I shouldn't go. Tyres are a bit weak - lots of rear pinch flats but I do spend a lot of time on sharp rocks and roots. Replaced with Maxxix High Roller 2.1's and transformed the handling. A bit heavy, but this is an advantage when the going gets tough and downhill. These are all minor issues only and are probably a reflection of where I take the bike. Otherwise no complaints.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Excellent bike for the money. Does all its designed for and more. My first front suspension bike, and has certainly boosted confidence and ability immeasurably. Have now graduated to full suspension freeride bike, as thats where my riding has been heading. Will keep the Kona as first choice XC bike.

Pros: sweet fork (exr pro), awesome hydraulic disc brakes, an awesome bike for someone who can't choose what type of bike they want because they like to do everything... this is the bike for you
Cons: heavy tires, deraileurs are a bit sketchy, thr frame is definitely not built for drops over 4 ft. (found out the hard way)
Time Used: Less Than A Month
Comments: This bike is definitely a good buy for anyone is light enough for city riding and strong enough for downhill. A sick ride for the money!
