Pros: Very comfortable ride, climb well, very fast and stable downhill (I reached over 60 km per hour on tarmac last month)
Cons: It is only available in green.
Time Used: 6 Months
Comments: I put Shimano SLX groupset and lightweight Spinner Aeris fork on the Kona Explosif with Shimano rim and Michelin slick tire for road use only. It cost me approx Us$1800 and never regret my expense. I own 5 other bikes, 4 aluminium and 1 carbon frame, and this Kona is absolutely the bike I ride most.

Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend

Pros: Lightweight, responsive, good components, steel frame, excellent climber, not bad on downhills. Love the Marzoochi fork!
Cons: Seat is crap, grips aren't the best.
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: Overall, an excellent bike. Rides good, handles great, best climbing bike I've ever ridden. Somewhat expensive though, but I got mine used. (2002 model).
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
