i am a hard rider and compete in cross country events in surrey and the only stock component on my bike is the frame i went out in best efforts to find a decent frame with a key eye to upgrade it for next year i sold the parts and my cranckset is sram xo with the rest of the drivetrain shimano xt with slk shifters the brakes are avid elixir cr carbon brake with fox 32 c forks with remote lockout. now this bike can take anything and everything and is now super light ny about 40% and cant wait till next year season so i can take i out and start rding it. my current bike is a specialized hard rock with custom compontents that just sold for 800 pounds

Pros:
Disc brakes are cool and stop very well. Frame seems to hold up very well. Stock tires are decent. Bike is super light.
Cons:
The stock crank on this bike is weak, i have bent it once, replaced it with another stock crank, and bent it.

Pros:
awesome bike for the price, just sick. the frame has been awesome along with almost everything else. I take this bike on single track all the time and it works just fine.
Cons:
the fork on this bike could use a replacement as it is not a great fork. also the wheels have to be replaced to get disc brakes so if you think you might want to upgrade to disc brakes you should just buy the disc brake version and spen an extra $100 rather than spend more than that later.

over all, this is a sweet bike and if you are looking at a good but not wickedly expensive bike this is it. for really technical riding the fork isn't great but over all it is an awesome bike for the amount you pay for it.

Pros:
Overall is a wicked bike for the price. Lifetime guarantee on the frame. Disc brakes and rims are hardcore. You can do lots of stuff with them.
Cons:
The forks where the only downfall for this bike.

Since buying this bike i have made lots of changes. i.e. new forks (marzocchi mx comp), new discs(hope mono mini's), new rims(funn discs) and I have also got cranks brothers mallet pedals. You can’t beat it amazing from cross-country and it climbs a dream. If you do buy this bike upgrade the forks 80mm is just not enough for this bike.

Pros:
Price, Colour, Awesome Frame geometry, Disc brakes are responsive considering the price. Nice hangers and stem. Rims hold up nice on some serious jumping. Never had to retrue them. Stock tyres are awesome on dry gravel. Did i mention the awesome frame ?
Cons:
Forks are ok but bottom out too much, adjustment doesn't make a difference. Derailer snapped. Tyres are shite in the wet weather, muddy or sandy conditions. A little on the heavy side.

This bike stock was a huge upgrade for me. It felt nice at first, but then i got into the mtb scene a bit more making me realise there are better options out there. I have upgraded the forks to drop off 2's, upgraded derailer to XT. Upgraded seat to a wtb SpeedV. The bike still holds up nicely in light downhill, XC and medium dirt jumps. I love the frame. I recommend changing the forks first. It makes a huge difference. As an entry level XC or light Freeride - I recommend it. If you have been riding for more than a year look at something a bit higher specd like a 6500. No regrets buying this bike though, i love the look of it. It still sits proud next to my 05 Stinky. :-)

Pros:
Great breaking and nice handling even in the snow and ice.
Cons:
The origanal front shock wasn't as good as some experienced riders may want.

On my 2005 model,I had the shock upgraded after test riding it. The rest of the components seem to be great. I've been riding in the snow and ice on logging trails and it been great. When its warmer, I plan on riding on paved and gravel roads with trailer with my daughter in it.

Great Cross Country Bike, Very Durable as well as reliable. I have Used it for jumps (no bigger than 3.5 feet) and the chain falls off rarely, only when i make a bad jump.
Cons:
Not too many, this bike can get lots of upgrades to make it even better than what it is right now (shocks, rims and tires)

Comments:
I have had about 5 flats over the summer but now am thinking of upgrading to better tires and tubes. Overall a great bike for cross country biking! The discs are super reliable as well.
