Shimano XTR RD-M960 SGS
Number of Reviews:   2
Average Rating:

Shimano XTR - Shimano's top-of-the-line, and the offroad racing standard, now redesigned with a mirror-like polished finish! Linear "Low Normal" reverse action derailleur reverses the shifting motion, putting less strain on your drivetrain and increasing intuitiveness of shifting action. 11-tooth pully wheels, SGS long cage design.

Pros: Shifts smoothly......but never stays put.
Cons: Weak parallelogram spring makes chain bounce everywhere, including OFF the chainrings, ghost shifts often, too much adjustment required.
Time Used: 3 Months
Comments: I do not like Low-normal rear derailleurs, after all. They shift smoothly, but also has that annoying random ghost shift too. I hate that fact I need to constantly adjust this thing before each ride. I''m switching back to top-normal RD. In fact, I''m getting SRAM X0.....never needs adjustment, clean shifting and never ghost shifts. 1:1 actuation ratio rules! For the money, I would not recommend this RD. I''ll keep my Shimano FC-M960 XTR crankset/BB, though.
