New for 2001 at a very affordable price. Shimano’s radial “lateral crossover” spoke pattern on the front wheel and rear non-drive side with 1x on the drive side. By anchoring the spokes at the side of the rim Shimano has reduced the weight of the rim by eliminating the material where the spoke nipple would rest. Though aerodynamics isn’t really an issue in Mt biking, 16 spokes are more than enough for strength with this design. Strength, lightweight, aerodynamics and good looks at great price. Thank you Shimano.

Cons: herpees, teh number 9

Comments: good ride. smooth and strong. not to mention herpees
