Pros:
Amazing breaking power, nice smooth action, little pressure needed.
Cons:
Make a lot of noise when they get grit in but they dont loose power.
They WILL kill you if you are not careful!

Pros:
great value for money, easy to clean and adjust properly.
Cons:
in muddy conditions ( i live in holland so that's quite often ! ) the brakes make a lot of noise, but perform still very good!

I had some doubts about getting a new bike with discbrakes, even in the mountains( high peaks in the french alps ) my "old" cantilever brakes performed well, although my backweel didn't last long. With these Hayesdiscs you get plenty of brakingpower, even in longdistance downhill slopes.
