after my one years experience with these brakes i think they are extremly relyable and the bakeing power is very good, the secret to keeping yor mx2 braking power nice and sharpe is useing isopropyl alchol on yor disc rotor and pads, wich is advised by the manual for the mx2 on the hayes web site.

Pros:
Adisc is better than v-brakes
Cons:
Brakes whine and squeal, difficult to adjust, shudder when stopping.

Once you've used Avid mechanicals, any other mechanical disc just cannot compare. These brakes came with the bike, so I had no choice, but believe the cost of upgrading to Avid is well worth the money.

Hayes is a good brand next to Avid, The MX2 looks like a fairly good XC brake. I'll write a review again after a few months and see how it breaks in.
