Pros: Excellent grip, fast rolling, very limited resistance for a slick MTB city tire. Long life, tread and compound wise. Inexpensive and a great deal. Excellent for street riding.
Cons: Not good on gravel or mud. Tube protectors recommended. Weight may be an issue for those of you who are technical about tires.
Time Used: More than 2 years
Comments: I bought my first set of Cheng Shin tires almost two years ago for $15 bucks each. I put a set of liners in them and hit the road and only experienced three flats under some of the harshest conditions the city streets can dish out. I am granting Cheng Shin a rating because I don't think they should be underestimated because of their price. Though they are an Asian brand, (manufactured by the 12th largest tire producer in the world represented in the USA by Maxxis) and they lacked features like kevlar, and they do pick up glass here and there. The rubber compound and tread is nothing short of superb and long lasting. A great, inexpensive, no frills road tire.
