Pros: light, cheap, durable, great accessories
Cons: crappy cassett, and chain
Time Used: 1 Year
Comments: This bike is verry light and well equiped for most normal trails. Everything is holding up well. Ridden almost everyday with all the original parts holding up accept the cassett and chain. When I was riding it, the chain suddenly broke off. I fixed the chain to find about a week later the chain fell off again. This time me and my dad looked at it and figured out that the cassett was bent and wobbling so I replaced it and the chain. The brakes work great. After a while the brakes seem to mellow out their stopping power. I thought that it was the pads so I went to replace them. To find our, hayes does not make replacement parts for their mx4 model of brakes. I researched a little and found out that the hayes mx2 pads fit the mx4. Looking at the brakes before I bought pads, I found out that only one pad actually pushes the rotor. This would cause both the pads to wear uneavenly. There was alittle hex screw that u use to put the pad that pushes against the rotor closer to the rotor. That fixed the braking problem. I have never had a problem with shifting. It always shifts the way I want it to. The Marzoucchi mz comp fork works perfect and is soft enough for a 100 lb kid like me. It works very good for an easy trail or a neighborhood street. I even take it for a spin at my local bmx track(very good at jumping). For around $365 at performance bicyles, it is sure a good bike.
Rating: 5
Recommendation: Yes I would recommend it to a friend
