If you start from the Edinburg Gap area, you will start on a very steep 2 mile hike-a-bike, if you have a free-ride bike or downhill bike...BRING IT!!! I have done this trail alot on my Cannondale Super V DH 4000. After about two miles of pain you are rewarded with 8 sweet downhill miles. The terrain is perfect for speed, no boulders, or super technical stuff, but sand, logs, water-bars, and other fun stuff will deffinetly keep you busy.
How to get there:
It's about 90 minutes from D.C., 40 from Winchester, and 30 from Harrisonburg.
If you want an 8 mile climb go from Woodstock to Edinburg.
