Trail Description:
Anderson may be done as an out and back, loop, or shuttle. For the out and back and the loop, park under the I-8 overpass on Puetz Valley Rd. Out and back: ride north on Puetz Valley Rd. 1 mile to single track trail head. Trail climbs steadily for about 4 miles and connects with rutted fire road that drops in from Alpine. For loop: ride the paved Alpine Blvd. 5-6 miles to and through the town of Alpine to East Victoria Rd. Turn north (left) onto East Victoria (steep uphill) to Anderson Rd. Ride past an old water tank and several ranches. The road becomes more eroded the farther you go until you hook up with the single track back to Puetz Valley Rd.
How to get there:
From San Diego, travel east on I-8 to Harbison Canyon Dunbar Lane exit. You'll be on Alpine Blvd. at bottom of the exit. Continue east on Alpine Blvd. 1 mile to Puetz Valley Rd.
