Trail Description:
Each trail is named. The trails starting on the Pole Knoll side are either descriptive or the names of birds and animals. Trails originating from below, near Greer, are numbered. Pamphlets, if available, describing the trails can be found at the sign-in register at each of the trailheads. Most of the trails are 1 to 6 mile loops with 30 miles total.
The trails are signed with Nordic ski symbols:
Green Circle means easy
Blue Square indicates moderately difficult
Black Diamond most difficult
How to get there:
There is no direct way, from Phoenix/Tempe or Flagstaff, head East to Show Low. Then head South on Hwy 260 towards Edgar. From Tucson head East on I-10 then North on Hwy 191 to Edgar. Pole Knoll is located to the south of AZ 260, about 14 miles west of Springerville/Eagar in Eastern Arizona near the New Mexico boarder.
