Trail Description:
Trail system consisting of Stone Valley Trail along the Raquette River and O'Malley Brook trail that follows a tributary and climbs to a ridge atop the river valley. The O'Malley trail is used almost exclusively by MTB'ers and contains a few loops that take advantage of all the granite. Lots of climbing to get to the top but once you're there it's up and down the granite outcroppings with some big descents and drops (including a steep ride down the face of a 20' boulder). You can connect to the Stone Valley trails which stretch for 3 miles on each side of the river. Stone Valley is primarily used by hikers/sightseers but is a good technical ride with some beautiful views of the river.
How to get there:
Look at "Stone Valley Cooperative Recreation Area" map. Start at Point of Interest #2 on the Lenney Road. Only part of the O'Malley trail is mapped, there are a few loops that return to the main trail.
