Trail Description:
The Tsali Trails are some of the most popular trails in all of Western North Carolina and even the entire east coast. Four long loop trails wind along the hilly shores of Fontana Lake. Mostly hardpacked singletrack with a few rocky, muddy, and technical spots, and connecting gravel/dirt roads. Spectacular views, great downhills, moderate climbs of 300 feet or so, banked turns...

How to get there:
From Asheville, take I-40 west to Great Smoky Mountains Expressway (US 74). Follow past Bryson City to NC 28 west, turn right. Follow about 3 miles to Tsali Recreation Area on right (at top of hill), turn right onto gravel road; the trails start at the end of this road.

Additional Notes:
Trails alternate use between bikers and horseback riders. Trail use costs $2 a day.
