Ride Summary:
A variety of terrain for a variety of riders and skills. Trails carved out by motocross riders years ago.

Trail Description:
This is a fantastic trail with a plethora of terrain for riders of all abilities. As such it is popular and can be crowded. Be careful of other riders. The old motorcross trail is maintained by a super cool dude, Tom Deans, who was the first mountain biker on this trail.

Novice to intermediate riders will like the east side best while the west side is considerably more technical. There are several "rock gardens" in the west. See how far you can get without dabbing!

Also watch out for hikers.

How to get there:
You can find the trail from a number of different places:

Rock Ledge Park: This park is just north of the dam off of Fairway Drive. Take Highway 26 (either to or from Grapevine, depending on which way you're going) until you get to Fairway Drive. Turn right on Fairway Drive and just over the dam, you'll see Griffiths Corner store on your right. Take left here into Rock Ledge Park. Drive all the way to the back of the park along the lake and park. You can see the trail from the parking lot.

Sneaky Pete's Trailhead: Take FM3040 from Lewisville and go west until it crosses 2499. Continue west and take the second left onto McKamy Creek Road. Follow it until it T's into Simmons. Turn left on Simmons. Take right at the next stop sign. Take another right at the next stop sign. The parking lot is up about 1/8 of a mile.
