Ride Summary:
Several trails to choose from with a little something for riders of all abilities.
Trail Description:
The Texas Hill Country offers a large selection of terrain between single track and old jeep trails. Bandera has many more hills then the Austin area. The climbing will help get you in shape but the reward is worth the effort. What goes up must come down. And the descents are fast and smooth. The trails are well-marked trails plus there is an excellent swimming hole to cool off in. Novice riders should hang on the double track lower elevations trails for easier rides while sport and above riders can take on the radical loops bursting with nothing but single track.
How to get there:
From Austin, head south on US35. Follow SR46 west to Boerne and Bandera. In Bandera, head south on SR173 and then take a quick right on SR1077 westbound. After turning to dirt, follow the signs.
Additional Notes:
Bandera is the heart of Dude Ranch country so remember that bikers always yield to horses.
