Trail Description:
The trail map depicted trails for all ability levels, but it seemed that the majority of trails we rode on required some technical skills and/or had vicious steeps. Many of the trails in this system are loop cross-country trails in the winter. There are other gnarly single-track, switchback trails which intersect throughout, which are definitely not for the squeamish. There is decent signage on the trails-which is handy since beginners and intermediate riders could quickly find themselves out of their league if they take a wrong turn. Mileage depicted is a guesstimate, since my trail map got trashed. The trails are a blast!
How to get there:
The trails are within the Boyne Mountain resort off of route 131 just south of Boyne Falls. The easier trails can be accessed from adjacent to the tennis court complex-they connect up with the gnarly stuff. You can also access the harder stuff directly from off of "Mountain Road," which connects the ski base area with the golf course complex.
Additional Notes:
Some of the best trails are at risk of being "golf-coursed" out of existence.
