Trail Description:
Smith lake consists of three interlocking loops; each with a different level of difficulty. The green loop is approx. 2 miles long and can be ridden by an old lady with a broken hip. The blue loop is a little more challenging than green, but still doesn't require much more talent. The only thing that makes blue more difficult that green is the moderate hill climb and a couple of log obstacles. The third and most difficult trail is the black trail. Black isn't very physically challenging, but, it has numerous man made obstacles (bridges, log piles, etc.) making this trail the most fun of the three. The trail is run by Ft Bragg and they do charge a $5.00 fee per day or $20.00 annually. Instructions for paying are posted at the trail head.

How to get there:
Take 210 south from spring lake past Simmons army airfield. Turn left at the Smith lake sign and follow the signs to the Smith lake recreation area from there. Additional signs will take you to the bike trail.
