Another after work type of ride in the Front Range hills, adjacent to Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Trail Description:
A combination of rolling terrain and steep, technical sections. The first third of the ride is rolling, and then comes the steep, technical loop, which can be ridden in either direction, and is just as challenging. One creek crossing, several water bars, several loose rock and solid rock. This trail is in the heart of the Morrison Lift, a beautiful geological formation that is easily picked out by the naked eye, since it forms the basis for Red Rocks Amphitheater. Matthews-Winters is often ridden as a loop with Dakota Ridge, in either direction.

How to get there:
From Denver: I-70 West, take Morrison exit, go left at light. Matthews-Winters trailhead and parking is on the right after 0.2 miles.

Additional Notes:
Ride late in the day to catch sightings of deer at dusk.
