Trail Description:
The whole idea here is to get to the top of Green Mountain and take in the sights of the Denver Metro area and the surrounding Front Range geography. Most everybody out on Green Mountain is out for a stroll, with the dog, or riding easy.

Green Mountain is another one of the Jefferson County Open Space parks. Park at either trailhead ("Florida" trailhead recommended) off of Alameda Pkwy. Ride immediately South on the trail that makes a circumference of the hill, and stay on it. Several junctions are encountered with trails leading up the hill. Ride South and then West as the trail follows the contour of the mountain. On the backside, or West side, take a right on the dirt road and start climbing. This is the access road to the radio and TV towers on top of the mountain. The climb is long and altitude will play a roll. The view from the top of Green Mountain is awesome. Rabbits and deer may also be seen at dusk.

Once the top is gained, ride East and back down to the parking lot. You'll find it hard to get lost, all trails lead to essentially the same area.

How to get there:
From downtown Denver: West on highway 6. Take the Union/Simms exit. Left at the light (South). Right on Alameda Pkwy. Trailheads on the right at the top of the rise.
