Trail Description:
On the edge of the park near the university you'll find some fair downhills. This is called Cardiac Hill. You can find it by taking the right before Carpenter State Park from HWY 896 and follow this road until it ends at Creek Road. There is a trail going up the hill. The trail is about a half a mile long. At the top go to the left for about a quarter mile and there's another downhill which is twice as long as the previous. The technical challenge is not too "extreme" but they can be taken very fast! At the bottom of Cardiac Hill, you can follow Creek Road North for a mile. Cross the road and keep heading North on the dirt road and the roads shifts into a flat singletrack for about four miles. This is a good place for beginners to get a taste of singletrack without getting into trouble.

How to get there:
From Newark take HWY 896 North two miles and you'll see signs for Carpenter State Park or White Clay Creek State Park on the right.

Additional Notes:
There's frisbee golf if you like ditching the bike. Park Office (302) 368-6900
