Trail Description:
The Saint Joe State Park is one of the biggest ORV parks in the mid west. You'll find eqestrian trails (23 miles) that are open to bikers as well. You'll also find 11 miles of paved trails and many more miles of ORV trails and dirt roads. This may be the best riding in Missouri. The trails are not too technical but there is a wide range of terrain with a few steep sections. The ORV section takes you through sand flat which can be hard to negotiate on a bike.
How to get there:
The St. Joe State Park main entrance is located off Hwy 32, just west of U.S. Hwy 67 near Flat River, MO. Take the Pimville Road once you enter the park and head to the park office or the bicycle staging area just to your right. Maps are available at the park office.
From St. Louis take I-55 south to Festus, MO. Then take the exit for Hwy 67 South toward Park Hills and Farmington. Follow US Hwy 67 until it intersects with MO Hwy 32. Turn right onto MO Hwy 32 west and follow it to the park entrance on the left.
From Farmington take US Hwy 67 north to Park Hills. Once in Park Hills, take a left onto MO Hwy 32 west and follow it to the park entrance on the left.
From Sullivan take MO Hwy 185 south all the way Potosi. Once in Potosi, MO Highway 185 will intersect with MO Hwy 21 south. Follow MO 21 south to MO Hwy 32 East. Go left onto MO 32 east and follow it to the park entrance on the right.
