Trail Description:
I think it is better to do the trail in a counter clockwise direction, the fun part is coming down on the northface of the mountain.
Sections of the trail are very rocky and steep. Some walking required.
The scenery from the summit is worth all the hard work getting up there. Reward is even bigger once you start the downhill.
How to get there:
Hwy 1 west from Calgary to Hwy 68, south on 68 to Powder Face trail. Start at either the north trailhead (10 km from Hwy 68) or south trailhead (further 9.3 km).

I rode this trail some days ago during the Transrockies 2010 and I was extremely impressed by it, even though it was windy and rainy. Unfortunately lots of pushing, but the downhill is a blast. I'd absolutely recommend to do it counterclockwise, because of the epic downhill!

Nice trail smooth easy riding spectacular views on ridge. If you want to make it easy on yourself go south to north and drop a car at bottm parking lot so you dont have to ride up a 7Km on the road choking dust.

Excellent technical riding up and down. If you are not into rocky trails with a lot of elevation gain, hike this trail instead. Awesome ridge riding and one of the best views you will ever see. 600m of elevation gain.

This trail is awesome! It has it all, grueling uphill, beautiful ridgetop singletrack with a punishing downhill leaving your brake pads and body smoked...........One thing missing though, I didn't get to see the chicks making out, damn!........

I think this is a great trail. I rode up powder face and then down the other side. Hit a fire road and followed the creek back to the parking lot. It is one of the most challenging climbs I've seen. Like the other reviewer said there are some sections with loose rock that you have to push up, most is ride-able. Going down the other side, everything is rideable and extremely fun. Definately worth the 7 or 8 KM climb. The view at the top is also amazing.

The elevation gain is 600 metres, not feet.
