A great ride and for sure it's an expert trail...even that ghorba said it's a beginner trail you will laugh at their ranking when you get there...

JB trails rock. It is worth the occasional drive from town, just to get a taste of something different. The entry into the trail head launches you into a cardio blast of several climbs, that will get the heart pounding. There is a few cool North Shore style type stunts at a lower level. A word of warning, mutant deet resistant musquitos. The musquito situation in the summer is on a blibical scale. I going to wait out the summer for the musquitos to go extinct. All in all I think JB trails has several more technical sections up/downs than Memorial which I ride often. Can't wait to go back in the fall/winter to thuroughly enjoy the trails without the bug assault. Banzai

This trail is why you bought a bike(and a helmet). This is the best trail that I have been to yet. It kicks memorials ass

This trail has come a long way in the past year. We have done a lot of work out here. We've added some new trails. Now you hardly have to ride by the bayou. We've got a couple of nice bridges out there, including a floating bride. We also have 3 nice teeters in the "playground" section. We've posted an updated map.

The trail is 10 miles only if you do it twice. If you want tight, technical and twisty trails, then this is it. There are a lot of small up and downs. Beginners will be walking some but after a few laps you begin to learn the layout and you are able to conquer anything that comes your way. There have been races on this course in the past but it is better suited for time trials since it is so tight. Beware though, if you stop, the mosquitos will dine and if you are the first one through clearing the trail you will knock down a lot of spider webs. I did just that last month and my bike came out looking like it had just been decorated for halloween.

These trails are finally being promoted by the park board and being fenced off to block horses from riding the trails. There are marked trails and maps available. It is fun for anyone, but beginers will be walking a lot. Very technical in spots and plenty of trails to keep you occupied for a few hours. I think it is the best one in the Houston area and not nearly as crowded as Mamorial.

funny you mention those banana spiders. Ive had that happen before, and omg it blows. i love jack brooks though, the trails there are so much fun, a beginner can manage them with lots of walking up hills, but it takes an expert to learn the lines, and ride without getting off the bike. a couple of bridges need to be rebuilt though.

This is an awesome trail that will keep you on your toes. Lots of tree roots and tons of mosquitoes in the spring and summertime. Watch those banana spiders. They can scare the hell out of you when you see them crawling off your helmet onto your face.
