Trail Description:
Great singletrack with several challenging climbs and varying degrees of technical difficulty. It is well maintained and fun. Just follow the yellow trail and you can't get lost.
How to get there:
Rt. 29 out of Peoria towards Pekin. Left on Rt. 98, up the hill and on the opposite side of McNaughton Park Rd. and McNaughton Pk. There is a parking lot and from there just ridge across the open field to the Dirksen Trail sign.
Additional Notes:
Also a good trail in McNaughton Park to ride

Yeah - I second the guy who sez that this should be rated expert. I'm from Madison, WI & I ride a lot, been out West -all that Jazz.... The times I have been to Peoria, I have found the upkeep on this trail a bit lacking (esp. after leaves fall). There are some great Whoop de doos & huck a boos here (gullies & jumps & junk). Lots of fun stuff.....for an expert! At least you have to be able to keep some rythm & groove. If you don't know what I am talking about then stay at farmdale for another year & build those muscles! I had a hard time locating the parking lot here as well. Worth a drive - great job to PAMBA & lil Ades!

Fun place to ride, lot's of steep climbing though. Watch out for the occational deer. The guys from Lil' Ades have done well for themselves here. A truly chalenging ride, and not for the timid or feint of heart in certain places. A++

BS on this "weekend boy" rating. Whoever rated this is clueless. Im not a pro by any imagination, but there are some areas that are hair raising. Jubilee (20 mins away) has a few very fast downhills and good uphills, and i found dirksen to be much more of a challenge. guys from lil ada's bike shop designed these and they are no weekend chaps by any means. diregard this rating, the rider/rater must not have found the wrong trail or else he is a king on trails.
