Trail Description:
A collection of semi- to moderately technical and hard packed singletrack loops. There are a few short climbs and early season muddy sections. The wooded areas east of the main gravel fire road offer more technical terrain. Expect to traverse logs, roots and some rocks. The trail is the perfect challenge for the weekend warrior or more experienced novice rider.

How to get there:
From I-405 in Renton take SR 167 south (exit 3). Then take the first exit from SR 167 to East Valley Road and go left following the intersection at SW 43rd St going left up the hill over the highway. The road name changes to SE Carr Road then again to SE 176 St. and again to SE Petrovitsky. Continue onto 196th Ave SE and turn left heading towad 183rd St. taking a left. The road immediately splits, go right on W. Spring Lake Dr. This is a dead end but continue about 1 mile to King County Park and park at the gate.

This is a fun area that has some real potential. There are some great trails to ride and very few people to deal with. I'd highly recommend the area to anyone who loves to bike. If trees/branches/rocks are found on the trail, you can be sure bikers will clear them off. No need to be a jerk when it comes use on PUBLIC land.

So Dogman, you are the person putting the logs and rocks on the trails. Making an old lady mountain biker (me) move it all! Lots of people of all levels/ages mountain bike out there and the trails are great! Don't be discouraged by Dogman!

these trailheads are not intended for any bikers...most are are horse/foot only.. i have been footing these trails with a black f/lab male unnetured pit and a pair of min pins once a week usually mid-week round 2pm especially rain-threat days i go here cause not many know how to navigate especially the east side trails furthest from lk desire..and echo mtn.whomever calls it cedar mtn is dead wrong this is king county known as echo mtn and echo point..there is no cedar mtn here..i rarely see bikers and for good reason the trails are terrible to bikers..i make it a point to make them un-nego.for such logs over trails, relocating tree-limbs over trailways bolders, ect in order to keep the bikes outta here..this is a level 3 walk/horse area at best 2wheeled anything will find it very difficult to ride if that.at best will be walking yer bike more than riding it..bank on it.

The trails here are still well-maintained and fun to ride. If you live nearby, this is a great little area to ride, hike, or run at!

Please don't come here, the trails are all gone, you wouldn't enjoy it anyway. I don't like company.

All of the trails are ruined becasue a bull dozer destroyes them. They must be building houses in the area.

I saw only three other people today and the trails were completely dry and quite dusty. It would have been great, except the trail system is a little confusing. Anyone have any maps?

I haved lived next to the Lake Desire trailhead my whole life, and have always loved these trails. I learned to mtb here. A lot of fun. For an awesome view, climb to the top of the maintenance road and then carry your bike up the summit trail on the right. It's annoying steps for a little ways, but then the top is smooth. It takes you around and to the top of Echo Mountain(On a map, it is Cedar Mountain). The top is a cool place to eat lunch because its open and the view is cool on a clear day. Mt. Rainier is in perfect view. Most people out there seem to be hikers, going to the summit. When you start your descent, go strait, rather than right. This trail is a lot better for going down. Some proffesional trail builders just built a new trail. It is smooth and easy, but it can be riden fast. Or, you can ride the old more-technical trail that parallels it. These trails arent incredible, but I love them nonetheless because they are always there when I want to go

This trail is the best!!!! I have live around spring lake most of my life and me and my friends love these trails. about 3/4 ths of the way down the road on the right, theres a trail that leads to a great BMX course but you get alot more air on a full suspention mountain bike!!! the trails are greatmy friends and i do alot of matinence work to make the trails fast and more technical. if any boby needs a riding partner don't hesitate to send me an email @ mike.rider@verizon.com
