Trail Description:
A veritable Christmas gift for mountain bikers. All trails were built by employees of the local bike shop, and are all built in the North Shore style of trail building. Lots of twisty singletrack loops that all join back to one main loop. You can go for as long or as short as you want to go, and join loops together to make one big ride. And all for the low, low price of only five bucks!!! A great place to ride, but not for the faint of heart nor unskilled. Expect steep drops, log rides, and technical terrain not typical of your "neighborhood" trail.
How to get there:
From Hwy 11 take Hwy 118 west to Bracebridge. Go through the first set of traffic lights and turn left at Santa's Villiage Road. Continue about 5 km. Porcupine Ridge is on the right hand side next to Santa's Villiage.
Additional Notes:
This is a pay to ride trail - $5.

Ok well i rode it on my hardtail because i thought it would be fairly easy.. i was wrong this is a challenging trail, i couldn't possibly rate it towards one type of biker or another.. its very open class... but i few things i would say are if you like big hits this is not the place for you.. if you like flowy trails this place will only give you a taste.. because overall this place was unorganized, rooty and rutted, the flow was that of tumbling down a hill in a garbage can. AND to make things better they stick more signs up advertising kona bikes then signs to help your lost ass get back on track. So.. my advice? don't go.

After much anticipation I finally got to ride the so called legendary "Porkys" this thanksgiving. first of all I would like to say that it is great that it is now open and thanks to those invovlved doing that. Having said that, this place is in need of some serious trail maintenance and retooling. I spent the better part of a weekend getting lost and confused as to where this trail went. With the exception of a few signs advertising kona bikes, the layout is messed up. There is absoulutely no flow to this trail at all, even following the map routes suggested, it goes completely against it. this is very dissapointing, because this place with its terrain and rock has the potential to be one of the best trails in the country. The so called "trail work" which has been done consists of rotting plywood painted purple and poorly constructed pressure treated ladders. I have built and maintained trails in whistler for 5 years and am perplexed at how this has been approached. We have in our back
